Beloved Father, Grandfather, and Brother

WATERBURY –James Melendez, age 66, of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Thursday, June 30^th  2024.     

James was born May 7^th, 1958, in the Bronx, NY, the son of the late Gregory and Olga Lee (Loopez) Melendez.  

Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his children Johnathan Melendez, James Melendez Jr and Olga Melendez.  He is also survived by his brother Steven Melendez, sister Adrienne Lopez and his three grandchildren.  

A Memorial Funeral Service for Mr. Melendez will be held on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at 6:00pm  at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT; Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.  Relatives and friends may visit with James’ family on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5:00pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm.    Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence or words of comfort or share a memory of someone important to you with your family and friends.
