WATERBURY, CT - Mrs. Jane Marie "Mimi" Cipriano, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 24th, 2015 on her 58th birthday at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness.
Jane was born on September 24th, 1957 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late George and Barbara (Stone) McDuff. She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Naugatuck Valley Community College. She spent many years working as a Teacher at the Waterbury YMCA and also spent 20 years working as an Emergency Room Registrar at Saint Mary's Hospital. Most recently, she worked as a medical secretary at Waterbury Orthopedics. Jane enjoyed dancing, spending time at the beach and attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. The most important thing to Jane was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Among her survivors, are her children; Sean Francisco, Christopher Cipriano, Sarah Acosta and her husband, Eric and Caitlin Cipriano, all of Waterbury, her siblings, George McDuff, and his wife Linda of Waterbury, David McDuff and his wife, Judi of Waterbury, Lorie Cavallari and her husband, Gus of Cheshire and Pam Ferrara and her husband, Bill of Weymouth, MA. She also leaves her twin grandsons, Noah and Zachary Francisco and her former husband's, Manuel Francisco and Donald Cipriano.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Doctor Knight, and Doctor Sabbath as well as Robin Cracco RN and the staff at Vitas Innovative Care Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital for the wonderful care and comfort they provided to Jane during her illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cipriano will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception 74 West Main St. Waterbury CT at 10:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Jane's family on Sunday September 27th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.at Eastside Memorial "A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd.
