Waterbury - Jane M. Martone age 91, formerly of The Village at East Farms Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8th 2016, after a brief illness.
Miss Martone was born June 21st 1924 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Clementina (Cochiolla) Martone. She was co-owner of Martone's Grocery Store on Highland Ave. until her retirement in 1971.
Jane was a loving Aunt to her nieces and nephews; Marianne Seeley of Watertown, Diana Raczkowski and her husband, James of Naugatuck, William Spinelli and his wife, Antoinette of Waterbury, Frank Spinelli and his wife, Doreen of Waterbury, Corinna Fishman and her husband, Michael, Rosemary Polakoski, Christina Marrone, and her husband, Phillip, Lawrence Martone, and his wife, Marilyn, Nicholas Martone and his wife, Donna, John Martone and his wife, Carolyn, and Michael Martone and his wife Jane all of Long Island NY. She was predeceased by her sisters, Carmella Spinelli, Rose Martone and Elinora Martone.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Miss Martone will be celebrated on Monday, March 14th 2016 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 785 Highland Ave Waterbury. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East main St Waterbury has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
