WATERBURY Mrs. Janet DeCarlo Cossu age 55, of Meriden Rd Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Hartford Hospital on Sunday, August 25th 2013 after a brief illness.
Janet was born September 27th 1957 in Port Chester NY, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Jeanette (Kalen) DeCarlo. She grew up in the Port Chester area attending local schools and has worked as an X-Ray technician for various hospitals throughout the NY and CT area. Janet had a passion for Walt Disney World. She loved all things Disney whether it was Mickey Mouse, movies, cartoons, music, and especially taking family trips to Disney World, Florida. She enjoyed baking, and cooking and dedicated herself to her family and was always happiest while spending time with them.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Sharon Cossu of Waterbury, her sister Rosemarie Ribuffo and her husband Peter of Port Chester, NY and her former husband Mike Cossu of Waterbury. She was pre-deceased by her brother John DeCarlo.
Friends and family may visit with Janet's family on Thursday August 29th 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m at Eastside Memorial, "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & TRIBUTE CENTER" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 30th at SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury at 10:30 am. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
