AT THE CASEY-ODONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
WATERBURY CT. Mrs. Janice C. (Connors) Hespelt, age 73, of Woodedge Ave. Waterbury, died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She is the wife of Robert C. Hespelt Sr.
Mrs. Hespelt was born October 12, 1937 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Maurice and Mary (Kelly) Connors. She was a graduate of SS Peter & Paul Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School. Janice worked for the City of Waterbury, in the Food Service Division at Crosby High School. She was a member of the Wolcott Woman's Bowling League for over 45 years and was a member of the Middlebury Senior Center. Janice was an avid UCONN Huskies fan and enjoyed water aerobics at the Waterbury YMCA. Most of all she loved being with her family and her full-time job as "Totally Awesome Grandmother". She was a longtime parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church. Janice's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and acknowledge the staff of Xavier 3 at St. Mary's Hospital for the care and dedication they shared with their Mom and family.
Besides her devoted husband of 48 years, Janice leaves a son, Robert C. Hespelt Jr. and his wife Tracy of West Suffield CT, 3 daughters, Karen Rado and her husband Edward of Wolcott, Cynthia Hespelt of Waterbury and Julie Koulouris and her husband James of Middlebury, two brothers, William Connors of Manchester and Maurice Connors of Thomaston, 3 sisters, Maureen Bourassa of Watertown, Nancy Stack of Oakville and Catherine Lackman of Wallingford. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, Steven, Nicholas, Alexandra, Dean, Megan and Erin who all were the "light of her life". She also leaves several nieces and nephews that she always enjoyed spending time with. Janice was predeceased by a son, Joseph Hespelt.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Hespelt will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 10:00am from the Casey - O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00am. Burial will follow Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Memorial donations in Mrs. Hespelt's memory may be made to SS Peter & Paul School, 114 Beecher Ave Waterbury.
