WATERTOWN- Jay Coffey, age 50, of Watertown died unexpectedly Sunday August 17, 2014 at Waterbury Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Jay was born August 8, 1964 in Warrenton, Virginia, a son of Alan B. Coffey and Nancy (Bray) Wolfe and was a lifelong resident of Watertown. He was a graduate of Watertown High School Class of 1982. Jay worked as a Jack of All Trades, and was currently employed by Eastern Awning. Jay loved riding his motorcycle and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid Beatles fan and enjoyed playing the guitar.
Besides his father of Plantsville and mother of Watertown, he leaves his step-mother Patricia Coffey of Plantsville, a step-father Chuck Wolfe of Watertown, a son Jay Alan Coffey of Penacook, NH, a daughter Rachel Lee Coffey and her fiancé Isaac Marte of Manchester, NH, two sisters Deb Coffey of Watertown, Diane Corona and her husband Mark of Oakville and two grandchildren Javier and Sophia, a niece Sarah Gonzalez, a nephew Spc. Anthony Salerno, his step-sisters Jean, Mary and Susan, two step-brothers John and Tom, along with a large extended family and many, many friends.
Funeral Service Saturday August 23, 2014 and 12 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street Oakville CT 06779. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit with Jay's family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until the service at noon.
