SOUTHINGTON – Jeanne C. Carey, age 75, of Southington, passed away peacefully at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jeanne was born August 5, 1947, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late William H. Carey Jr and Diane (Millette) Carey. As a military child, she spent most of her young life traveling with her family throughout the world and was a proud graduate of San Diego High School. Jeanne was a long-time Southington resident and served on several town committees including The Republican Town Committee. She was elected to the Board of Finance for the town and also served as a Town Constable. She spent many years working for Devon Precision and was named their top sales representative. She retired from Idex Corporation in Bristol, where she worked as an account manager. Jeanne loved to travel but was always happiest while spending time with her family, especially all her nieces and nephews whom she treated like her own children. She enjoyed their many vacations together and was always there to support their sporting events and celebrate milestones together. Jeanne’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her sisters; Diane Sullivan of RI, Gail DeBlasio of FL, and sister-in-law, Maria Carey of Waterbury. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews who were all very special to Jeanne. She was predeceased by her brother, William H. Carey III and sister, Florence Walls.
