WATERBURY - Jeanne B (Brophy) Crane, age 92 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2016, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at home after a brief illness. She was the widow of Hubert E. Crane.
Jeanne was born September 17, 1923 in Danbury CT, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Marion (Dell) Brophy. She was educated in local schools and enjoyed painting, reading and traveling. She was a member of the Prospect Historical Society as well as the Prospect Art League. Most of all Jeanne was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church.
Jeanne is survived by her three children, Mary Crane and her companion, George Mastroianni of Cheshire, Michael Crane of Middlebury and John Crane of Waterbury. She also leaves her grandchildren, Chelsea and Nathanial Crane and their mother, Monique Legere-Crane. Jeanne was predeceased by two sisters, Anne O'Neil and Patricia Weaver. Jeanne's family would like to acknowledge and offer special thanks to Constance Barbie, Jeanne's longtime companion and caregiver.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Crane will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial, 1987 East Main St @Southmayd Rd to Saints Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Jeanne's family on Tuesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
