WATERBURY – Jefferson D. Goodrich, age 49, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his children and loving family on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Hartford Hospital.
Jefferson was born May 31, 1973, in Waterbury, CT, the son of Douglas and Judith (Mahoney) Goodrich. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School, Jefferson enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country for 4 years. Following his military service, Jefferson was employed as an IT Technician for many years. He was a baseball assigner for the last 12 years at CCBUA and coached for the Baseball Association of Wolcott for several years. Jefferson enjoyed all sports, but his favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and the New York Giants. He also enjoyed fishing, but what Jefferson loved the most was spending time with his children.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his children; Sydney Goodrich and Hunter Goodrich, his parents; Douglas and Judith Goodrich, his sister, Jana and husband Erich Weihrauch, his brother, Robert Goodrich, his nephews; Alex Weihrauch, and Caedan Juno Goodrich-Smith, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Jack. Jefferson was predeceased by his grandparents, Francis and Madeline Goodrich, and Francis and Julia Mahoney.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit with the Goodrich family on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury.
