WATERBURY - Mr. Jeffrey "Jeep" B. Milam, age 65, of Waterbury, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Gail (Graham) Milam.
Jeep was born in February 11, 1949 in Matewan West Virginia, the son of the late Wallace E. and Thelma Inez (Ammons) Milam. He grew up and was educated in Waterbury's North End and met his beloved wife Gail while stationed in the US Navy in Boston. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served on the USS Constitution and USS Stonewall Jackson in Groton. Jeep was the owner/operator of Excalibur Trucking for many years. He loved classic cars and fishing but most of all he loved spending time with his wife and family.
Besides his wife of 40 wonderful years, Jeep leaves his daughters, Jennifer Sica and her husband Ernest of Southington, Heidi Langlais of Naugatuck and his son, Jeffrey W. Milam and his wife Sherry of Fairfield. He also leaves his two sisters, Judy Bonacassio and Connie Lush, both of Waterbury and his 9 grandchildren; Olivia, Julia, Madison, Joshua, Christopher, Mitchell, Laura, Garrett and Cheyenne as well as his special companion JoJo his dog. He was predeceased by his sister, Lynn Galante, his brother, Timothy Milam and his nephew, Thomas Deleo. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the dedicated staff at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital for the care and professionalism they shared with Jeep throughout his illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Milam will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 10:30 am. from EASTSIDE MEMORIAL, A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 1987 East Main St.@ Southmayd Rd. to St. John's Episcopal Church, on the Green in Waterbury for a service at 11:00a.m. Committal services, with full military honors, will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit with Jeep's family on Wednesday morning from 9:00am until the time of the service.
