Taken from us far too soon
WATERBURY – It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Jer’Miyiah T. Pegues, age 23, of Waterbury, announces her unexpected passing on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Jer’Miyiah was born June 11, 2000, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of Jermaine Pegues and Shantel Dubois. She attended Kennedy High School and had been working as a customer service representative at Dunkin Donuts. Jer’Miyiah excelled at many things in her life but nothing greater than being a devoted mother to her two twin daughters Jai-Lani and Kai-Lani. Jer’Miyiah was a loving daughter, sister and friend and enjoyed cooking and dancing. She was a former member of the Waterbury Knights Cheer team and had aspirations of attending cosmetology school to become a beautician. Despite her short time here on earth and her tragic passing, she will be forever remembered as the dedicated mother of two extraordinary twin daughters and a dedicated daughter, sister, and friend.
Left to honor her memory and cherish her legacy besides her parents, are her twin daughters; Jai-Lani and Kai-Lani Simpson, her brothers; Maliek Johnson, Jesus Garcia Dubois, and Jaylon Pegues, all of Waterbury. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family members and many friends.
