Longtime Alcott Middle School Teacher
WOLCOTT- Mr. Jerome P. Albino, 81, husband of Madelyn (Barbieri) Albino passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the VITAS Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital.
Jerome was born in Waterbury on January 25, 1941, son of the late Jerome L. and Helen (Lucian) Albino. He graduated Crosby High School and Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading.
His teaching career began at Alcott Elementary School in 1962 and ended at Tyrrell Middle School in Wolcott in 1998. He was an active parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Church in Wolcott, serving on many committees and as a Eucharistic Minister. He was an avid golfer and he looked forward to playing with his buddies in Connecticut and family in Florida. Hunting was one of his passions, especially when he went with his good friends in Vermont and Ohio. He enjoyed his many trips traveling across the U.S. and abroad with his family, friends and the love of his life, his wife Madelyn. He cherished his family and will always be remembered for teasing his grandchildren with his witty sayings. Jerry was a sweet and kind man and will forever be in many hearts.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy in addition to his wife, Madelyn of 59 years, are his three sons; Jerome T. Albino and his wife Patricia of Bristol, Paul Albino and his wife Natalie of Hebron, Christopher Albino and his wife Kirsten of Southington. Jerome and Madelyn were blessed with five grandchildren; Christina, Jerome R., Danielle, Alaina and Nicholas Albino. He also leaves his brother, William Albino and his wife Rosemary of Naples, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Charlotte Wooster.
Jerome’s family would like to extend their deep appreciation and acknowledge all those who cared for him at St. Mary’s Hospital and VITAS.
Funeral services for Mr. Albino will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church/ St. Basil The Great Parish in Wolcott, when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Albino family on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT 06705.
