OAKVILLE- Jerry D. Zambiella Jr. age 85 of Oakville, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes at his home on Tuesday April 30th 2019. He was the widower of Shirley (Russell) Zambiella and Paula Ferris.
Jerry was born July 28th 1933 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Gennaro and Madeline (DeSena) Zambiella. He was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical School and proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War Conflict. Upon returning from the service, Jerry began working for Nole Glass Company for several years prior to becoming the founder, owner and operator of Cheshire Glass Co. Jerry enjoyed playing setback at the VFW, meeting up with his friends daily at 2:00pm at the Main St. Dunkin' Donuts and he had a passion for Jaguar's especially his black Jag that he notoriously drove daily. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and watching Jeopardy. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Among his survivors are his former wife and friend, Shirley Jean Hoffman and their children, his sons; Jerry D. Zambiella III and his late wife, Susan of Oakville, David Zambiella and his wife, Deborah of Prospect, and his daughter; Patti Ciarleglio and her husband, Curt of Waterbury.
He is also survived by his late wife Shirley's children, her sons; Mark Way and his wife, Leatrice of Oakville, Todd Way and his wife, Cathy of Watertown, her daughter; Linda Sundell and her husband, Richard of FL.
He is survived by his late wife, Paula's daughters; Kristine Berube and her husband, Cliff of Watertown, and Karen Trudeau and her husband, Eric of NC. He also leaves a brother, Joseph Zambiella of PA and a sister, Anna Richmond and her husband, Bob of DE. and his 17 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Zambiella and sister, Teresa Iannotti.
Funeral services for Mr. Zambiella per his request, will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
