EAST HAVEN - Jessica Berkun age 39 of East Haven formerly of Waterbury passed away at her home unexpectedly on Wednesday December 27, 2017.
Jessica was born August 5, 1978 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of Judith (Wojack) Germano of Wolcott and Mark Germano of Thomaston. She grew up in Wolcott and was a graduate of Wolcott High School where she was a member of the track team. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and also was a member of their track team. Jessica has spent the last several years working as an account administrator for C.J. Fucci Construction and enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and on the beach. She was a talented cook and enjoyed family gatherings but was always happiest while spending time with her son Isaak who meant the world to her.
Besides her parents Mark and his wife Carol and her mother Judith and her partner Terry Griffin, Jessica is survived by her son Isaak Berkun of East Haven, her sister Melissa Germano of Wolcott, her former husband Vincent Berkun, her parental grandmother Betty (Hemingway) Germano. In addition she also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents Chester and Rita (Gagnon) Wojack and paternal grandfather Peter Germano.
Funeral services for Jessica will be held on Saturday January 6th 2017 at 10:00am at Cornerstone Church 1146 Waterbury Rd, Cheshire, CT 06410. There are no calling hours.
