Waterbury, CT - Jim Stephen Wattenbarger, known to most as "Steve" , age 58, formerly of California, currently of Cooke Street Waterbury, died unexpectedly Wednesday March 12, 2008 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.

Mr. Wattenbarger was born October 23rd, 1949 in San Jose California, son of James Madison Wattenbarger of California and the late Marjorie June (Dietrich) Wattenbarger. He was raised and attended schools in the San Jose area and attended West Valley College in Los Gatos California, where he studied accounting. In 2000, he moved to Connecticut and was employed as the chef for the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Windsor CT for the past seven years. Steve had a true passion for cooking having been a chef all of his life. Steve was a caring, giving and kind-hearted person who will be greatly missed by his family, friends and co-workers at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. Steve was also an avid animal lover.

Besides his father James and his step-mother Goldie of CA, Steve is survived by his two sisters, Marilyn Ann Trenholm of Redmond Oregon; and Linda K. Sharp of Prineville, OR, his seven nieces and nephews, Kirk Butcher, Michelle Butcher, Sadie Erb, Lindy Sharp, Johnathan Sharp, Gina Wright and Marcy Colins. He also leaves two very special and close friends, Ray Daley of Chicago IL and Eddie Brazier of Waterbury CT. and several grand nieces and nephews. Steve was pre-deceased by his Mother Marjorie June and his sister Karen Lynn Wise.

Funeral services for Mr. Wattenbarger will be held in Oregon at the convenience of the family. The Casey ?" O'Donnell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
