OAKVILLE -Jo Ann (Goff) McAdam age 82 of Oakville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 13th 2016 at Autumn Lakes Health Care Center of Waterbury after an extended illness. She was the widower of James J. McAdam.
Jo Ann was born May 4th 1933 in Saltillo, TN the daughter of the late Marie Tremune and Lynn Goff. She met her future husband, James while he was stationed in her home town during his training for the US Navy. They soon married and moved to California until the end of the Korean War when they relocated to Connecticut and eventually settled in Watertown where they raised seven children. Jo Ann was a kind and generous soul who would do anything she could for her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren. She was quick to smile and had a wonderful sense of humor. One of Jo Ann's favorite pass times was to sit in the backyard listening the birds sing and take in nature.
Among her survivors are her children, Barbara Rainone and her husband Angelo of Wolcott; Kevin McAdam of Waterbury; Jeff McAdam and his wife, Lori of Wolcott; and Beth Ann McAdam of Watertown. In addition she is survived by her siblings, Betty Jane Farrow, and her husband, Bill of California as well as her grandchildren, April (McAdam) Lussier, Michael McAdam, Jennifer McAdam, Mark Rainone, Missy (Rainone) Biondi, Robert McAdam, Jennifer (McAdam) Vitone, Michelle (Lanier) McAdam, and Kathleen (McAdam) Clark, as well as several great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband James, her sons, Philip Shawn, Stephen Lynn, and James Brian McAdam.
The McAdam family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Lakes Health Care Center for their care and compassion and the Hospice team who made her comfortable during her stay at the facility. They would also like to thank and acknowledge Paula, Kathy, and Karen and all the aides who not only took care of Jo Ann but gave support to the family.
