Oakville - Joann J. (Janeira) Robinson, age 64, of Davis Street, Oakville, died peacefully Thursday April 21st at St Mary's Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. She was the widow of Daniel Robinson.
Mrs. Robinson was born August 13th 1946, in Brooklyn NY, the daughter of the late Albert and Janet (DeGregorio) Janeira . She graduated from Ridgefield High School, Class of 1964 and went on to receive her nursing degree from the Stamford Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She worked as a registered nurse for numerous nursing facilities, hospitals, and health care centers throughout the area, most recently at Rosegarden Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Waterbury. Joann enjoyed gardening and knitting as well as traveling to the casinos and taking cruises with her family.
Among her survivors are her children, Terri (Robinson) Hiner and her husband Cranston of Torrington and Jason D. Robinson and his wife Zoe of Danbury, her grandchildren Elizabeth and Matthew Abrantes and Peter Robinson.
Friends and family may visit with Joann's family at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville on Saturday, April 23rd from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Robinson may be made to the Saint Jude's Children's Research hospital 501 St Jude's Place Memphis Tennessee 38105 or the Disabled American Veterans at P.O.
