John J. DeBellis Sr.

THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME sadly announces the passing of Mr. John J. DeBellis Sr., age 81, of Upland California. John passed away peacefully on Friday February 19th, 2010 at San Antonio Community Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. DeBellis was born on March 9th, 1928 in Waterbury Connecticut. He was preceded in life by his father and mother (Samuel and Antoinette) and his brother (Sebastian), all of Waterbury. John was a Korean War army veteran and worked for General Electric in Ontario, CA., for 28 years. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he sang in the choir, volunteered at His Hands Ministry and was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation. He enjoyed golfing; jazz music and family gatherings.

John is survived by his wife Claire (Ouellette) of 52 years, his son John DeBellis Jr. and his wife Vivian of Rancho Cucamonga, his daughter Antoinette (Toni) and her husband David Reilly of Fountain Valley and his other daughter Andrea (Andi) and her husband Raymond Lau o f Saugus. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Marie and Jason DeBellis, Connor and Kyle Reilly and Alyssa and Kiara Lau, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 1st, 2010 at 5:00pm followed by a rosary at 7:00pm at Stone Funeral Home 355 East 9th Street, Upland, CA. John's brother-in-law, Richard T. Ouellette M.M., will celebrate a memorial Mass on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 at 10:00am, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, located at 877 North Campus Ave. in Upland. Internment will be at Riverside National Cemetery. Memorial donations in John's memory may be made to the Maryknoll Sisters, 340 Norumbega Drive Monrovia California 91016.
