Mr. John P. Hirbour Jr.

February 15, 1980 — May 12, 2024

Harwinton

HARWINTON It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of John P. Hirbour Jr age 44 of Harwinton announce his  passing in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Sunday May 12, 2024. He was the husband of Heather Elwell Hirbour.

John was born on February 15, 1980 in Waterbury, the son of the late John P. Hirbour Sr and Edna Fitzmaurice Hirbour. He graduated from Milton Hershey High School in PA and was awarded his bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University. He worked for several companies as a software engineer and at the time of his passing was employed by TED Inc. John was a lover of great music, played several instruments and enjoyed singing. He was also a master woodworker, enjoyed playing video games with his son, driving his tractor and was an avid animal lover, especially pugs.  John was exceptional in almost every way, but he excelled the most at being a devoted husband, father and brother. He was fierce in loyalty to his family and had a capacity to love that was unending. John had the type of personality that allowed him  to make friends wherever he went. He was driven to make the world a better place.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his wife, Heather are his son Elias Hirbour of Harwinton, his sister, Cynthia Palmisano and her husband Matthew of Seymour, several nieces and nephews, his aunt, Anne Hayes of Oxford, and his faithful 4 legged companions Lacey, Cheddar Cheese and Holly.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Hirbour family on Saturday May 18th from noon until  3:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705.  Burial will be held at the convenience of his family.    Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence or words of comfort or share a memory of someone important to you with their family and friends.
