Gone too soon but not to be forgotten

PROSPECT - John Michael Johnson Jr. of Prospect, Connecticut age 26, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Yale New Haven Hospital.

John was born January 9, 1996, in Waterbury, the son of Terri Shea and John M. Johnson Sr. John was a graduate of Woodland High School, Class of 2014 and was currently working toward a BA in Business at The University of Johnson and Whales in Rhode Island. At the time of his passing, he was employed as a painter for many years.
John was never afraid to live life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling, especially to places that involved nature. His hobbies included: snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking, and riding his motorcycle. He was passionate about the art of woodburning and loved attending concerts. Most of the time John could be found in his garage hanging out with friends and working on his next project. He especially enjoyed the annual family vacation trip to Rhode Island with close family and friends, which included nightly strolls to the beach. It was during these special moments with his closest friends and family that John's heart was at its happiest.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his mother, Terri Shea, and little sister, Kaileigh Neyra of Naugatuck. His father, John Johnson Sr. and stepmother, Kerri Johnson of Waterbury. John is survived by his maternal grandparents, Thomas, and Vicki Shea, and his Aunta, all of Prospect, whom he resided with. His paternal grandparents, Robert Sr. and Janice Johnson of Surfside Beach, SC. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of many dear friends. He will be especially missed by the two dearest to his heart, his little sister, Kaileigh and adopted Pitbull Luna.

Funeral services for John will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Anthony's Church, 4 Union City Rd Prospect. Those planning to attend the services are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will prayers of committal will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Johnson family on Thursday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT. To honor John's memory, contributions to the Pitbull Rescue Foundation of their choice would be appreciated by the family. Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence, share a memory or words of comfort with the family and friends of someone that was important to you.
