AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - Waterbury - Mr. John K. Ouellette, age 68, of Carriage Dr. Waterbury, died Thursday with his loving family by his side at St. Mary's Hospital after an extended illness. He was the husband of Gloria (Burns) Ouellette.
Mr. Ouellette was born on November 9, 1942 in Waterbury, the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Feest) Ouellette. He was a graduate of Crosby High School and was a proud and active member of the CT National Guard for many years. He was employed as a Police Officer for the City of Waterbury and retired after 23 years of dedicated service. As a patrol officer John was admired and known on his beat as "Father John". He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed his morning coffee routine with his fellow retirees. He was a member of the American Legion, the Wolcott Senior Center and the Waterbury Police Mutual Aid Society. Most of all, John was a devoted husband and family man, enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.
Besides his wife of 40 years, John leaves his daughter Francene Ouellette of Waterbury his son, Kenneth and his wife Kristy of Bethel and his granddaughter, Rhiannon, a brother Charles W. and his wife Rolande Ouellette of Watertown and 2 nephews and a niece.
Funeral services for Mr. Ouellette, with Full Police Departmental Honors will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 8:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St Waterbury to Blessed Sacrament Church, Robbins St Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 - 8 pm.
