AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - WATERBURY CT. Mr. John F. Muccino Sr, age 81, died on Monday at St. Mary's Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Mary (Donofrio) Muccino who died August 9, 2010.
Mr.. Muccino was born in Waterbury on October 19, 1928, the son of the late Augustine and Nora (Walsh) Muccino.John was a graduate of St Francis Xavier Grammar School and Crosby High School and was a veteran of the US Army. He was employed as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 32 years retiring in 1987. Following his retirement, he was employed at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sheriden Council, Waterbury and he was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church.. John's family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of Xavier 3 at St. Mary's Hospital for the compassionate and personal care they provided their father throughout his final days.
John leaves two sons, Nicholas and his wife Carrie of Northfield CT and David and his wife Lori of Waterbury, 2 daughters, Karen Martin and her husband Thomas of Media PA and Debbie Boivin and her husband Brian of Torrington. He also leaves a brother, Mr. William Muccino and his wife Dorothy of Watertown and a sister Eleanor Tucker and her husband David of Wolcott and 9 grandchildren, Tara, Madison, Kourtney, Gaylen, Cullen, Cole, Wyatt, Justin and Jami as well as several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his son, John F. Muccino Jr.
Funeral Services with full military honors for Mr. Muccino will be held on Saturday October 2, 2010 at 8:30AM from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St. Waterbury to St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St. Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4 till 7pm. Memorial donations in Mr.. Muccino's memory may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St Waterbury CT 06706.
