WATERBURY - John Pannone, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the widower of Joanne H. Pannone.
John was born on April 17, 1933 in Waterbury, CT, a son of the John and Mary (Sullivan) Pannone Sr. He was a graduate of Wilby High School, Class of 1952, and went on to attend Quinnipiac College. John then joined the United States Army, proudly serving his country and spent 1 1/2 years in Germany where he visited Paris and Italy. He enjoyed working out at the gym and placed 3rd in his COS physical fitness test. Following his military service, he attended Bryant and Post University and then worked for the State of CT, Dept of Labor in their Waterbury, until his retirement. He enjoyed baseball and was the public announcer for the Waterbury Pirates of the Eastern Region.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memories are his two daughters Gina Lussier and Johnna (Charles) Neurakis, grandchildren; Jordan Lussier, Cody (Becky) Lussier, Brianna Lussier, Noah Neurakis, Nicole Neurakis, and Megan Neurakis and great grandchildren; Graciella and Troy Lussier. John was predeceased by his brother, William.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of his family and John will be interred next to his wife Joanne at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
