THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF JOHN PINHO JR.
WATERBURY - John M. Pinho Jr., age 81, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Maria Luisa (Pardal) Pinho.
John was born July 11th 1938 in Waterbury, CT the son of the late Joao and Maria Luz (Carinha) Pinho. He was raised in Naugatuck and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. John attend Post College and received his BA in Accounting from the University of Bridgeport. John spent many years working as an accountant - Audit Tax Supervisor for the State of Connecticut Department of Revenue Services until his retirement in 1991. He was also the owner and operator of John Pinho Accounting & Bookkeeping which he ran alongside his son for many years. John was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and was an active member of the Naugatuck and Waterbury Portuguese Clubs. There was nothing more important to John than his family and he was always happiest while spending time and traveling with them. He especially enjoyed trips to Torreira, Portugal where he had a second home and enjoyed relaxing on the beach and following his favorite Porto Soccer Team.
Left to cherish John's memory and honor his love and legacy are his wife of 59 years, Maria, his son, John F. Pinho of Shelton, his daughter, Diane Pinho Monteiro of Waterbury. John and Maria were blessed with three grandchildren; Austin, Leonardo, and Melinda. He was predeceased by his son in law, Edward Monteiro and his brother. Jose Pinho.
Funeral Services for Mr. Pinho will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church 2071 Baldwin St Waterbury. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with John's family on Monday, January 27th 2019 from 4:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT 06705. To honor John's memory, donations may be made to the John M. Pinho Scholarship Fund.
