John Rock

WATERTOWN - John H. Rock age 84 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital.

John was born on May 30, 1938 in Plattsburg NY the son of the late Donald and Janet (Cunningham) Rock. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Security Analyst who was responsible for interpreting Morse Code in Germany during the Korean War. John was a proud Leader in the Boy Scouts of America Waterbury Troop 330. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus as well as the American Legion. He was employed for many years as an Engineer for SNET and enjoyed many years of retirement. During those years, John rebuilt his 1963 Sunbeam and was most enthusiastic about the arts. He also had a keen interest in glassmaking, painting and enjoyed sharing his many accomplishments with his family, who were just as proud to display is fine work. He loved sharing his extensive knowledge and interests which included, guns, traveling and photography.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his children; Paul Rock and Dawn Bazzano, Missy Rock and Mike Paolino and Michael and Clare Rock, several grandchildren and a great-grandchild. His former wife Karen Rock. John was predeceased by his sister Janice Carlson. John thoroughly enjoyed the company of his family and enjoyed telling stories of his time spent with them.

Funeral services for Mr. Rock will be held privately at the convenience of his family. To honor John’s memory donations to the CT Humane Society or the American Legion would be appreciated by his family.
