THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF JOHN A. SABETTA
WATERBURY - John A. Sabetta, age 85 of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at St. Marys Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Divigard) Sabetta for 53 wonderful years.
John was born December 25, 1932 in Waterbury, the son of the late Angelo and Frances (Amendola) Sabetta. John graduated from Crosby High School and attended Post College. He worked for the Carpinella family for over 40 years at Better Formed Metals, Plastiglide, and Carpin Manufacturing from where he retired in 2002. He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War as an MP and was stationed in Germany. He was an avid baseball fan and the NY Yankees was his favorite team, as well as UCONN Women's and Men's Basketball. He enjoyed spending time with his family and visits with Scott, Liana, Liam and Victoria. He also enjoyed watching sports, movies, reading and doing crossword puzzles. John will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Among his survivors are his children; Louis Sabetta and his companion, Kathleen Walker, and Rachel Albanese and her husband, George Jr. with whom he made his home. John also leaves his grandchildren Heather and Alyssa Albanese, Leah Blake, and Joseph and Laura D'Averso, his nieces Paula Caldarone and Susan Gudas, and his nephews, Bruce Caldarone and Michael Sabetta. He was predeceased by his brothers, William A. and Patsy F. Sabetta.
Funeral services for Mr. Sabetta will be held on Monday, August 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 west Main St. Waterbury. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and family may visit with Johns family on Sunday, August 5th 2018 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.mm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705.
