AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Mr. John H. Stemm age 92 of Clemaitis Ave., Waterbury, died unexpectedly Monday May 17, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of Juliette (Fournier) Stemm.
John was born October 24, 1917 in Waterbury, a son of the late Louis and Eva (Brown) Stemm and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. Prior to his retirement in 1983, John was employed as a superintendent at Risdon Manufacturing where he worked for over 30 years. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
Besides his wife of 68 years of Waterbury, he leaves two sons John Stemm Jr. of Waterbury, Michael Stemm and his wife Maria of Branford, a daughter Marlene (Stemm) Speers of Middlebury, a brother James Stemm of Waterbury, a sister Thelma Taylor of Illinois, a daughter in law Patricia, fourteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Robert Stemm and two brothers Louis and Edward Stemm.
Funeral Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
