John L. Talbot

Prospect CT ?" John L. Talbot, age 81, of Laura Ave, Prospect, died peacefully at home on Sunday afternoon with his loving family, who cared for him throughout his brief illness, at his side. He was the widower of Claire (LaMadeleine) Talbot.

Mr. Talbot was born in Montmagny, Province de Quebec, Canada, on December 10, 1925, the son of the late Albert and Rosee (Nicole) Talbot. At the age of seven, he and his family moved to Vermont where they owned and worked a dairy farm until he moved to Connecticut in 1955. He was employed as an electrician at Somers Thinstrip in Waterbury until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and always stayed very busy, doing all types of woodworking which he was most proficient at, as well as maintaining his yard and garden. He loved to play cards with his family and friends, listening to music and most recently, became an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He had been a Prospect resident since 1959 and a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church.

Mr. Talbot is survived by his two daughters, Suzanne Casey and her husband Mark of Waterbury and Jeannette Crandall and her husband, Garry of New Hartford CT, 4 grandchildren, Michael and Caitlin Casey of Waterbury and Sara and Nicole Desrochers of New Hartford CT. He also leaves a brother, Claude Talbot and his wife AnnaMay of Wolcott and a sister, Collette Boutin and her husband Edmund of Glover VT as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Roger, Rene and Leo Talbot as well as three sisters, Madeleine Ouellette, Jeanette Sawyer and Therese Talbot.

Funeral Services for Mr. Talbot will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 9:00am from the Casey O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 E. Main St. Waterbury to Saint Anthony's Church in Prospect for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery. Friends and Family may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Memorial donations in Mr. Talbot's memory may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, 56 Franklin St. Waterbury CT 06706
