WATERTOWN ?" John L. Tangney age 48 of Roberts Ave. died unexpectedly January 2, 2009 at his home. He was the husband of Evelyn D. (Dusak) Tangney.
John was born January 5, 1961 in Waterbury, a son of Louis T. Tangney and the late Joyce (Goudreau) Tangney and was a lifelong Oakville and Watertown resident. He attended Watertown Schools and was a graduate of the automotive and welding programs at Kaynor Technical School in Waterbury. John worked part time at Doc's Motorcycle Parts, where he developed his love of motorcycles. He served an apprenticeship at Iseli Company and was currently employed as a machinist at Palladin Manufacturing in Waterbury. John was also a member of the Regional Scuba Diving Team in Thomaston and was a member of the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, both great loves of his life. John enjoyed camping for many years with his parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and later with his many friends. John will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his wife of eight years of Watertown and father of Watertown, he leaves two stepsons; Ryan A. Scully of Waterbury, Adam G. Scully of New York and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. He was predeceased by a stepson Jeremy A. Dusak.
Funeral Thursday at 11 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, 935 Main Street, Watertown, CT 06795.
