THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF JOHN TAYLOR

OAKVILLE - John J. "Jack" Taylor, age 81 of Oakville, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at his home on March 10, 2018, surrounded by his loving and caring family. He was the wife of Charlotte (Ostuno) Taylor.

John was born October 5, 1936, the son of the late John and Mary (Duncan) Taylor of Scotland. He graduated from Leavenworth High School in Waterbury. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. John worked as a retail manager at Grants Department Store where he met his wife, Charlotte. He continued his career at both Caldors and Walmart before his retirement. John enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife and being in Florida during the winters. John touched many lives, his loving, humorous personality caused all that knew him to love him. He was a great conversationalist who could talk to anyone about anything. He knew all the latest news, weather and celebrity gossip. He was very insightful and always had the correct answer to any question. He was a parishioner of St Mary Magdalen Church.

Besides his wife Charlotte of 50 years, he leaves his children, Sharon (Taylor) DiFederico and her husband, Anthony of Oakville, Jacqueline (Taylor) Bellemare of Watertown, Patricia (Taylor) Swift and her husband, Kenneth of Waterbury and John D. Taylor of Waterbury. He also leaves his grandchildren, Jessica Swift, Steven DiFederico, Amanda DiFederico, Justin Bellemare, Audrey Taylor and Olivia Taylor. In addition, he leaves his brother, Thomas Taylor of Waterbury and his 3 sisters-in-law and 4 brothers-in-law as well as several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother, Robert Taylor of Cheshire.

Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 12 noon from the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St to St Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St in Oakville to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Burial will full military honors will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.
