WATERBURY- Jose "Joey" Hernandez, 50, of Waterbury went to be with the Lord in eternal glory, in the presence and comfort of many loved ones on July 16, 2021. Jose was born in Bridgeport on November 30, 1970, and was raised and resided in Waterbury.
Jose was known for his humble demeanor, perpetual smile and always being a warm-hearted individual that gave to others with an abundance of the heart. Jose was always kind to everyone he encountered and could fill a room with his warm disposition. Jose made his living as a truck driver, and truly enjoyed the adventures of the open road. Jose was a loving and nurturing father to his two sons Anthony Ferrer and Andrew Hernandez - two young men who brought him great pride and whom he loved with all his heart. Jose was also the former husband of the late Gladys Ferrer.
Jose was the son of the late Luz Pitre and Gregorio Hernandez, Sr.,he is survived by his two sisters Griselle Hernandez-Pitre and Brenda Roman and his brothers Gregorio Hernandez, Jr., Osvaldo Hernandez. . He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins and several extended family members.
Funeral services for Mr. Hernandez will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints/Todos los Santos Parish, 515 South Main St, Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Jose's family on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT.
