WATERBURY - Jose E. Lugo, age 41, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at home of natural causes on Sunday, May 31st 2020 surround by his loved ones. He was the beloved husband of Lori McCann

Jose was born December 2nd 1978 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Aida Crespo of New Haven and the late Elutero Lugo. Jose was a graduate of Eli Whitney High School and received his mechanics certificate from Porter and Chester Institute and spent several years working as a mechanic at Tony's Tire Shop. Jose enjoyed baseball and was a diehard NY Yankees fan. There was nothing more important to Jose than his family. He was always happiest while spending time with them especially his children, grandchildren, and nieces.

Left to remember, cherish and honor Jose's love and legacy are his wife, Lori A. McCann of Waterbury, his daughter, Jasmine Lugo of Waterbury, his son, Edward Lugo and his stepson, Mark McCann, his mother, Aida Crespo and stepfather, Carlos Gonzalez of New Haven, and his two sisters; Yessica and Ayesha Rojas. In addition, he also his grandsons; Jaiden Roman (Macho), "his buddy" and Taylor McCann as well as his mother in law, Betty McCann, father-in-law, Paul McCann and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and many friends.

Due to current government restrictions related to the COVID 19 Pandemic, a limited memorial service for Mr. Lugo will be held on Friday June 5th 2020 at 11:00 a.m at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT. A limit of 49 people maximum will be allowed to attend services and social distancing restrictions will be strictly enforced. A live stream of the services will be available starting at 11:00 a.m at www.facebook.com/eastsidememorial . Burial will follow in All Saint Cemetery Waterbury. Friends and family may visit with Jose's family on a limited basis on Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Guests are asked to remain outside until a member of the funeral home staff invites you in for screening. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home has been honored to assist Jose's family with arrangements.
