WATERBURY- Joseph P. Barbieri age 73 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 8th 2015.
Joseph was born March 9th 1942 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Peter and Rachel (Pinto) Barbieri. He was graduate of Crosby High School and proudly served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in France and Germany. Joe spent many years working as a tool and die maker for several area manufacturing companies including Timex and JOMA Manufacturing. He enjoyed woodworking, building and flying remote control planes and boats and was a member of the Bristol Fish and Game Club and was a gun enthusiast. Joe loved to spend time with his niece and nephews and will be remembered as a devoted brother and uncle.
Among his survivors are his brother, Ralph Barbieri and his wife, Philomena of Oakville, his nephews, David Barbieri and his wife, Christa, Adam Barbieri and his wife, Novene Grant as well as his great nieces and nephews, Aly, Dominic, Jake & Matthew, as well as his aunt Jane Barbieri and several cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Barbieri will be held on Monday June 22th 2015 at 11:15 am at EASTSIDE MEMORIAL "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St Waterbury. Burial with military honors will follow in new Calvary Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Joe's family on Monday morning from 10:00-11:00 am at the funeral home.
