THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF JOSEPH ROLAND BELLEFEULLIE.
WATERBURY - Joseph Roland Bellefeuille, age 90 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2nd, 2020 at Saint Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Emily (Petulla) Bellefeuille. Joseph had a zest for life and lived each day full of joy and happiness. He brought a smile to all who knew him and will be missed by many.
Joseph Roland was born February 18th, 1930 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Armand and Grace (Deshaies) Bellefeuille. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and proudly served his country in the Connecticut National Guard. Joseph held various positions at Ramos Iron Works of Naugatuck where he was affectionally known as "Joe Belle" during his 32 years at the company. He then worked for Segre's Iron Works until his retirement in 1992.
Joe and the love of his life, Emily, were happily married for almost 70 years. They raised a beautiful family with 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He was always happiest while spending time with family and friends, including Macaroni Sundays where all were welcomed. His blue eyes and big smile always lit up the room as he would share stories of how he and Emily met and fell in love.
Joe split his time between CT and Florida, where he loved the sunshine. He enjoyed sunset walks on the beach, boat rides with friends, and cheering on the Red Sox's! Joe loved being outdoors, taking pride in his garden and getting a kick out of feeding and watching the many birds in his yard. He enjoyed dancing, regularly checking the stock market, word searches and doing puzzles with family. His homemade wine was enjoyed by many- Joe Belle Zinfandel, a fine Italian wine with a Frenchman's special touch! He was a man of faith, attending St Francis Xavier Church and praying daily for those in need. He will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor Joe's memory and legacy is his wife, Emily, and their children: James Bellefeuille and his wife Evelyn, Janice LaPlaca and her husband Jerry, Judy Surprise and her husband Donald, Jean E. Freeman and her husband Jim, and Joanne Casavant and her husband Leo. He also leaves his two sisters, Jeanette Swircenski and Cecile Schiavo, as well as many nieces and nephews.
