Beloved son, father, grandfather and great grandfather
WOLCOTT - Joseph Carrah age 95 of Wolcott went peacefully to his heavenly father, with his wife by his side on Wednesday July 21, 2021. He was the husband of Joan Galipault Carrah for 62 wonderful years.
Joseph was born in Zgharta Lebanon on May 16, 1926 the son of the late Bahaya (Hayek) and Tafic Carrah. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II a member of the greatest generation. When he returned from the service he met and married the love of his life, Joan, He was employed by Amtrk for 37 years until his retirement. Joe was most proud of his family than anything else on earth and he cherished the time he spent with them. He was the happiest of guys who loved to sing and could immediately put a smile on anyone's face. He was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and an active member of both the VFW and American Legion. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and treasure his memory, besides his wife of 62 years are his children; his daughter, Susan (Carrah) Carserino, her husband John, his son, Michael Carrah and his wife, Donna, his son, James Carrah and his wife, Amanda; his brother, George Carrah, grandchildren: Christina Carrah, Melissa hart her wife Kerri Hart, Kara Carserino her fiancé, Ziggy Burzacky, Michael Carrah Jr. his partner Russell Dinolfo, Mikayla Carrah, Madison Carrah, Evan Carrah and Ava Carrah and his great grandson Cooper Burzacki and many nieces and nephews and his wonderful caregivers Mohanie, Lisa, and Kela. He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Carrah and his sister, Evelyn Carrah
Funeral services for Mr. Carrah will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lebanon Church, East Mountain Rd Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Carrah family on Saturday morning at the church from 9:00 till 10:00 a.m. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT has been honored to serve the Carrah family during this most difficult time..
