WATERBURY - Joseph A. Green age 86 of Waterbury, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Wolcott View Manor. He was the devoted husband of Irene (Crary) Green of 62 years.
Joseph was born in Waterbury CT on May 8, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Vestro) Green. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a hospital corpsman. Joseph worked as a Supervisor in the Shipping Department at Timex Corporation over 40 years. He enjoyed vacations in Sarasota, Florida, walking, reading, listening and singing to his Irish music and watching the UCONN girls basketball.
Besides his wife Irene, he leaves a brother, Richard Green and his wife, Irene of Coppell, Texas, a sister, Barbara Raymond and her husband, David of Weston Vermont, a niece, Laura Zorn of MA., a nephew, Alex Zorn of Prospect, sister-in-law's, Connie Zorn of Prospect and Rachael Crary of Naugatuck. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Green, brother-in-law's, Paul Zorn, John Crary and nephew, David Green.
Funeral services for Mr. Green will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10:15 from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd to SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery, Waterbury. Relative and friends may visit with Mr. Green's family on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 4:00 till 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Seasons Hospice, 21 Church St, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
