Joseph Lantiere, age 69, of Oakville, CT, passed away on Tuesday May 25,2021. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 41yrs Stephanie (Gakidis) Lantiere. Joseph received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration at Post University and was a graduate of the Chavez School of Magic. He was also a Master Mason, former member a Mensa and an alumnus of Jeff McBride's Mystery School. He was an Award-winning Close-Up Magician, Teacher, Author, Musician, Tarot Reader, Ventriloquist, and Escape Artist. Joe's life long love of the arts started with his first stage show in 1968 and continued for another 40 years. His performances were enjoyed through out the United States by people of all ages. He went by many stage names but is best known as Mister Miracle the Wizard. Joe was a prolific writer and authored some 16 books with his best known The Magician's Wand - An Illustrated History. He was also a contributor, editor to Arcanum, and co-author to numerous other periodicals throughout his career. Joe was very active in the magic community. He was a member of The Inner Circle of Bizarre Magic, past-president of both local chapters of The International Brotherhood of Magicians and The Society of American Magicians and Ventriloquist's Association of New England just to name a few. Joe received his Doctor of Divinity Degree in 1987 from the Church and School of Wicca in New Bern, NC, U.S.A. An accomplished musician he had worked in the past as musical director for the Church of Eternal Light located in Bristol CT. Where he also served in the capacity as a High Priest. Joe was considered an elder, friend and teacher who imparted much wisdom to its membership. He will be missed by all.
