WATERBURY -Joseph Robert Taylor Sr. age 64 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday October 21, 2021. He was the devoted husband of Maria (Tomaz) Taylor.
Joseph was born on August 9, 1957 in New Haven the son of the late Willis Fred and Anna Margaret (Giaimo) Taylor. He was raised and educated in New Haven and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Before residing in Waterbury, Joseph and his family lived in New Haven and West Haven. He was employed for many years as a Network Engineer for CVS Networks and most recently Travelers Insurance. Joseph was a friendly and outgoing guy who enjoyed making many friends and would do anything for anyone of them at any time. He had a unique sense of humor and loved to tell his "Dad" jokes. He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed riding. What was most important to him however was his family, a devoted husband and loyal brother but most of all a dedicated Dad and Grandad. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his wife, Maria are his children; son, Joseph Robert Taylor Jr and his wife Kathryn of Waterbury, daughters; Michelle Nelson and her husband of Paul of Beacon Falls and Maria Carolina Taylor of Waterbury. Joseph was blessed with four grandchildren; Amanda, Andrew, Madyson and Tyler. He also leaves his siblings; Willis Taylor, Anthony Amato, Robert Amato, his twin sister, Concetta Taylor, Annamarie Hotchkiss, Vicky Taylor, Donna Candela, Patricia Hansen, Elizabeth Taylor as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters; Debra Hotchkiss and Mary Ann Taylor and Nephew and godson, Louis Damiani.
Funeral Services for Mr. Taylor will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Relatives and friends may visit with Joseph's family on Monday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. We continue to remain concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether you are vaccinated or not.
