WATERBURY - Joseph P. Santos, age 83, formerly of Enoch St Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Meridian Manor Health Care Center on Thursday August 22, 2013. He was the widower of Theresa (Capobianco) Santos to whom he was married to for 63 years prior to her passing in July of 2012.
Mr. Santos was born in Waterbury, CT on June 12th 1930, the son of the late Able and Virginia (DaRosa) Santos and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. Prior to his retirement Joe worked as a milkman for several area business and was a proud member of the Local Teamsters union #677. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and their friends and would commonly be found taking long walks in the neighborhood. He was happiest while spending time with his family and friends. He was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Among his survivors are his sons; Joseph P. Santos of Waterbury and Pasquale Santos of Seattle WA; his daughter, Teresa Santos-Corso and her husband John of Waterbury, his brothers Leo, Al, and Anthony Santos all of Waterbury his sister Emily Stevens of Naugatuck and his granddaughter Manuella Vensel of Naugatuck as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Santos will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 10:30 am when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Rites of committal with military honors will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
