WATERBURY - Josephine Thibodeau Mastroianni age 90 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Cheshire House in Waterbury surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the widow of Alphonse Thibodeau, and John Mastroianni.
Josephine was born May 9, 1924 in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late Carmin and Santa (Lombardi) Burgio. She was educated in local schools and played high school basketball and spent many years working as a sales clerk for Miller & Peck before her retirement. Josephine loved to play the piano and sing. She could always be found in the kitchen singing and cooking. During her stay at the Cheshire House she enjoyed playing the piano and entertaining their residents. She was a parishioner of Saint Francis Xavier Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.
Among her survivors are her children; Allen P. Thibodeau and his wife Karen of Prospect, William C. Thibodeau and his wife Diane of Waterbury, Maryann Miller and her fiancée, Gilles Dube of Farmington. She also leaves her brother, Paul Burgio of Prospect as well as nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mastroianni will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at 9:30 a.m. from EASTSIDE MEMORIAL "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center," (1987 East Main St., Waterbury) to St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St., Waterbury where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.
