Man of deep faith and family
WATERBURY -Juan Del Carmen Rodriguez age 94 of Waterbury, passed entered into eternal rest on May 13, 2019 at the Vitas Unit of St Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and wife of 64 years, Aurelia Rodriguez.
Juan was born on June 16, 1924 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, the son of the late to Basilio Rodriguez and Juana Padua. Growing up he learned to value work helping on the family farms and working the sugar cane on the island of Puerto Rico. He moved to Connecticut in the 1950's where he spent many years working for Uniroyal Manufacturing. Juan will be remembered as a generous, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. This along with his enduring Catholic faith were at the center of his mind and heart with everything he did including his love for the rosary.
Besides his wife, Aurelia, Juan is survived by his children. Milagros, Luz, Pedro, (Migdalia), Blanca (Miguel), Norma, Nicholas, Sonia (Eric), Basilio (Lydia), Norberto (Mildred), Zoraida (Efrain), Lydia (Gilbert), Sandra, Ida (Paul), Janet (Mark), Maribel (Marcial), Marisol, brothers Gelo, Juan Jose and Dam ian. In addition to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews here and abroad, he was preceded in death by the most beloved Beridiana & Carmen Maria, brothers Manuel, Confesor, and sister Maria Antonia and son in laws Manny and Edgar. The family expresses its appreciation to the staff at Waterbury Hospital, St Mary's Vitas Unit, and his primary Doctor, Dr. Catala for the care and comfort provided to Juan and his family during his illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Rodriguez will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 9:15 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 South Main St Waterbury. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Juan's family on Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m at the funeral home to extend on-line expressions of sympathy to the family or for additional information, kindly visit the funeral home website at: www.eastsidememorial.com .
