WATERBURY - Juana E. (Texidor) Sanchez, 85, passed away comfortably in her home, surrounded by her loving family and devoted husband of 69 years, Guillermo Sanchez.
Juana was born on September 19, 1934 in Ponce, Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Pasqual and Aurora (Nazario) Texidor. Being one of eight children, she was very close to her family and always had a wonderful support system. She was raised in Puerto Rico with her siblings, attending local schools. There she met the love of her life, Guillermo, to whom she married in 1951. They then moved to New Jersey in 1954 to start their lives together. She worked as a file clerk at a law firm, from which she retired. Her greatest success in life by far was being a loving and devoted wife and mother. Juana was best described by all who knew her as a strong, sweet and kind woman. She was the center of her family and nothing was more important to her than family. She was an amazing cook and expressed her love through her cooking, always making sure everyone was fed. Juana was raised a catholic and had an unshakable faith. Surely, her devotion to God is being rewarded as she enters the gates of Heaven toward eternal peace.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her love and legacy are her children, Emma M. LaMonica, Minerva Trusty and her husband, Oliver, and William Sanchez and his husband, Kevin. Juana and Guillermo were blessed with many grandchildren, Minerva Ancrum and her husband, Brian, Joseph LaMonica and his wife, Yung, Tasha A. Lomax, and Juanita E. Cheng and her husband, Moon; her great grandchildren, Terence Stark, Jonathan Ancrum, Jayden A. Rounbehler, Noah Cheng, Kellan Lomax, and Emmalie LaMonica. She also leaves her siblings, Carmen Villegas, Celia Rivera, Silvia Pacheco, Elfren Texidor, and Jose (Pepin) Texidor. She was predeceased by her sisters, Gloria Torres and Rosa Alicea.
Funeral services for Juana will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 E. Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Juana's family on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
