"RETIRED WOLCOTT SCHOOL TEACHER"


WATERBURY - Ms. Judith A. Boughton age 72 of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, December 14th 2017 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary's Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, after a long illness.

Judith was born August 12, 1945, the daughter of the late William Jr. and Helen (Murphy) Boughton. Judy was raised in Waterbury and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Saint Joseph's College and received her Masters Degree in Education from Central Connecticut State University. Judy taught for the Wolcott School System for many years, before her retirement. Prior to beginning her teaching career, she spent several years as Sister Kevin Marie of the Sisters of Mercy (RSM) in Madison as a nun. She enjoyed reading, dining out with friends and family as well as traveling, especially to Ireland, Las Vegas and the CT casinos. She was a member of the Waterbury LAOH and Elks Club bowling league. Judy was a parishioner of St Francis Xavier Church and will be truly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Among her survivors are her brother, William Boughton III and his wife, Gail of New Britain, her sisters; Linda Galvin and her husband, Thomas of Prospect, and Helen Donovan and her husband, Kerry of Wolcott. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Robert, Shannon, Sean, Daniel, Brian, Ryan, Matthew, Daniel and Michael as well as her great nieces and nephews Abigail, Reegan, Jake, Edward, Tiwana, Patrick, Joseph and Peyton as well as her dear friends, Angela "Mary" and Michael DiMaio.

Funeral services for Ms. Boughton will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, CT to Saint Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St Waterbury when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Judy's family at the funeral home on Sunday, December 17th from 2:00 to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Judith's memory may be made to: Wolcott Resource Center Food Pantry, 358 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, CT 06716 or Children's Community School, 31 Wolcott Street, #D, Waterbury, CT 06702.
