Judith Ann (Opdyke) Cleveland, age 77, of Fort Myers Florida passed away in her summer home in Otis, MA on August 9, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Cleveland.
Judith was born February 19, 1943 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late Daniel Opdyke and Ann Marie (Moran) Opdyke. She raised her family of three in Indian Hills, Naugatuck, CT, where she also enjoyed a nearly 30 year career with Uniroyal Chemical company. She also obtained her associate degree in business from Mattatuck Community college in 1982. She was an active member of St. Vincent Ferrar's church in Naugatuck, and later joined St. Collumbkill Church in Fort Myers Florida. Judith loved the ocean, and spent her time visiting beaches and cruising around the world. Judith also had a love for animals and was never far from her furry friends Lucy, Micha, Bella. , Max, Milo, Jed, and many others. She was always able to see the joy in life and made adventures wherever she went. Judith's loved ones will greatly miss her sunny presence.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her love and memory, besides her husband Robert, are her two children, Karen Hollywood and David Cleveland, her daughter in law Regina Cleveland, her siblings, Timothy Opdyke, Patricia Tramontina and Daniel Opdyke, six granddaughters and two grandsons. Judith has joined her late son, Kevin Cleveland, in heaven.
Funeral services for Judith Cleveland will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Judith's family on Friday October 16, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St, Oakville CT, at a "walk-through visitation" following all applicable state COVID #19 guideline. To honor Judith's memory, donations are encouraged to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111.
