WATERBURY - Julia Marie Austin age 86 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020 at St. Marys Hospital after an extended illness.
Julia was born on June 5, 1934 in Meriden CT, the daughter of the late Dr John J. and Emma (Seckler) Austin. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and Waterbury School of Hairdressing. Julie and her sister, Dorothy co-owned Step in Style Beauty Salon in Cheshire CT and the Galaxy Beauty Salon in Mt Carmel CT. Most important to Julia was her family and spending time with her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Julia will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish Julia's memory and honor her love and legacy, are her niece and nephew, Raymond Leeser and Judith Ann of Goshen, Danielle Grzan and her husband, Brandon and their children. Ava and Allison of Newtown, Tiffanie Meehan and her husband, John of Goshen and their children, Liam and Shawn of Goshen and Gregory Leeser and his wife, Kayleigh of Stamford CT.
Funeral services for Ms. Austin will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2020 at 12 noon at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Relatives and friends may visit with Julia's family during a walk-through visitation observing all applicable state and federal guidelines on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the service at noon.
