"Beloved wife and mother"
WATERBURY - Julie L. (Graveline) Sorbie, age 56, of Plymouth, died on December 31, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital of complications from Covid 19. She was the loving wife of George Sorbie.
Julie was born on September 28,1965 in Derby, CT., daughter of Linda (Braley) (Graveline) Swaby and the late Roger Graveline. She attended Gilmartin School in Waterbury and graduated from Wilby High School where she participated in the Future Farmers of America.. From the age of 16, Julie was employed at Schmidt's & Serafines of Waterbury where she met and fell in love with her husband, George. She was a member of the Naugatuck Congregational Church.
Julie enjoyed a great passion for life, her family and her friends. Julie will be missed for her expert CVS coupon bargain adventures as well as her fun and furry backyard visitors, her deep love of animals and her many baking skills. She was dedicated to bringing joy, smiles and fun to all of those that she knew and loved. Giving to holiday toy drives and supporting the needs of the less fortunate we're some of her favorite activities.
Besides her loving husband of nearly 30 years, and her mother, she leaves her sisters: Jamie Rodriguez and Sharon Swaby, brothers: Charles Graveline, Keith Swaby and his wife Sofia, and Robert Swaby; her nieces: Grace, Jasmine and Nia and nephew. Keith. She is also survived by her Godmother, Lorelei Johnson and Goddaughter, Carol Sugrue as well as many great friends and extended family members.
In addition to her father, Julie was predeceased by her angel sons: Alec, Ian and Clayton as well as her brother, Ryan Swaby, stepfather, Hopeton Swaby, brother, Hopeton Swaby Jr. and sister-in-law, Lynn Sorbie Sency.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the family's convenience. A Memorial Service may be held in the Spring when friends and family can gather safely. To honor Julie's memory, contributions to the March of Dimes or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by her family.
