WATERBURY - Karen (Samal) Guay, age 59 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital.
Karen was born on June 9, 1958 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Keyser) Samal. She was educated in local schools and first worked as a CNA and then for many years as the School Secretary at Kaynor Technical School. In her younger days, she enjoyed track, running and biking. She had a special affinity with her many cats but her most memorable time was spent with her family especially on their annual Thanksgiving trips to the casinos. She also loved karaoke. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
She is survived by her son, Robert Guay and his wife, Mary of Oakville, her son's Dad, Robert Guay Sr. of Madison, her brother, Michael Samal of Cheshire, several cousins in FL and CT as well as many close friends and colleagues at Kaynor Tech.
Funeral services for Mrs Guay will be held on Tuesday March 20, 2018 from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT 06779. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
