Beloved Daughter and Sister
WATERBURY - Karen Perez age 14 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Yale Children's Medical Center after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Karen was born April 9th 2004 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of Abraham Perez and Sandra Martinez. She graduated from North End Middle School and was currently enrolled at Kaynor Technical School in Waterbury. Karen had a way of instantly making friends. Anyone who met her would automatically be pulled in by her warm smile and heart and became an instant, lifelong friend. Karen enjoyed swimming and taking trips to amusement parks, especially to ride on the roller coasters. Since she was a baby, Karen had a love of music and dancing. The memories of her smiling and dancing will forever live on in her family and friends hearts, forever.
Besides her parents of Waterbury, Karen is survived by her little sister, Diana Perez, her maternal grandparents, Francisco Martinez and Sofonia Rodriguez of Mexico and her paternal grandfather, Lucia Fragoso also of Mexico as well as other extended family members and many friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Perez will be held on Friday, January 18th 2019 at 11:30 am from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St. Waterbury 06705 to Todos los Santos All Saints Church South Main St. Waterbury when a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00noon. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Karen's family at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 am until leaving for the service at 11:30.
