WATERBURY – Karen Quinones-Luciano, age 43, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Vitas Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her friends and family after a long but courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Jose Luciano.
Karen was born on April 25 th 1980 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Neftali Quinones Tirado and Emiliana Blas Carrero. She was raised in Puerto Rico and came to Connecticut when she was 20 years old first working as a hairdresser and then based on her diligence and entrepreneurial spirit and hard work she opened her own business as the owner and operator of Salon de Chache, West Main St Waterbury. There, she had a strong clientele of friends and new customers and enjoyed cutting and styling hair and growing her business into a great place for friends and clients to gather. Karen’s favorite holidays were always Halloween and Christmas, and she loved to plan parties, especially New Year’s Eve parties and birthday parties for her children. She always went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect and that everyone had a great time. She will be remembered as being a loyal and
loving wife, mother, and friend.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, besides her devoted husband, Jose and her parents, she leaves her two sons; Jocian and Jayden Luciano. Her brother Neftalli A. Quiñones and sister Veronica L. Quiñones including Anna Conde and Kimberly Ruiz and other extended family members and many friends
Funeral Services for Mrs. Quinones - Luciano will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends may visit with Karen’s family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
