THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF KAREN R. WHITE

Karen White, of Bethany, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018, at the age of 59. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Roderick White, and their two devoted children, Brendan White and Caitlin White (Michael Looney).

Karen graduated from Hamden High School in 1976, and earned a BS in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport in 1980 and later a MS degree in Health Administration from the University of New Haven. She worked in the Emergency Department at St. Raphael's Hospital in New Haven for 35 years.
Karen was an avid swimmer and reader and a master baker. She loved the serenity of the seashore, and cherished her vacations on Martha's Vineyard with her husband and children. She had a keen memory, sharp wit and highly contagious laugh which she shared generously with her extensive family and wide circle of friends. Karen had a gift for conversation and was a focused listener. No matter how busy she was, she always put family and friends first, always remembering to follow up on special or difficult occasions.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Lee Ryan. She will be profoundly missed by her brother and sisters, Michael Ryan, Colleen Riley, Paula Ryan and Bethanne Ryan; she will live on with great love in their hearts forever. She will also be lovingly remembered by her longtime friends from Alice Peck, her nursing partners and her fellow swimmers at the JCC.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday June 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 2819 Whitney Ave Hamden, CT 06518 Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church.
